Depending on your software version, the process to save to your phone may look a little different. Sometimes you can long hold on the GIF in the folder, and save to your device. Sometimes you have to look for the download arrow in the top right corner. Then on the bottom left of your screen, you’ll see a blue arrow, click that to go to you downloads. Then select GIF again, then click on the arrow bottom left again, then select Save to Photos. Try a few things out, but at the end what you want is for the gif to be saved into your regular picture gallery.

Android Device

If you have an Android, save GIFs to your device. From you gallery, select your gif you want to use, then top right corner hit settings, copy to clipboard. From there you can paste into story on IG.
